14 GPU types earn idle pay today

Paid even when not rented: per GPU per hour while the machine is listed, online and not rented. Rented hours pay the net rent instead. Each GPU type pays the full idle rate up to a cap of idle GPUs; above it, every idle GPU of that type gets an equal share. Every figure is what you receive, after fees.

How the cap works: 8× H100 · cap 64 GPUs, 88 idle now. Over the cap: 88 idle GPUs share a cap of 64, so the tier pays 72.7% of its full rate.

Estimates use the same formula as the calculator above: one GPU, 730 hours a month, today's rates, each type's live rented share over the last 30 days, and the net rent (after fees) at our automatic price. A dash means the type has no such history yet.

These are not promises you make once. They are five conditions we watch for as long as the machine is listed.

  • Keep it powered

Hours offline earn no idle pay, and a machine failing health checks is paused until it passes again.

  • Hold the bandwidth

Keep the uplink you stated in your facility profile. Renters depend on it for their jobs.

  • Let our agent run

The machine stays reachable with our access key and runs our agent. We install it for you.

  • Dedicated while listed

While listed, the machine serves renters only. Don't run other workloads on it at the same time.

all GPUs serve rentersnothing else running

  • 7 days' notice on rented machines

Removing a machine with an active rental needs at least 7 days' notice, so the renter is never cut off mid-job. You can pause new rentals any time from the console.

QUESTIONS

Questions owners ask first

Straight answers before you sign up.

Why pay for idle hours at all?
Because a listed machine should never earn zero. Idle pay covers the hours no one rents; when someone rents, you earn the net rent. Every listed hour is paid one way or the other.
What exactly do I earn?
Every hour your machine is listed, online and not rented earns idle pay for its GPU type. Every rented hour earns the net rent instead. Your monthly statement lists every hour.
Is anything taken from what I earn?
Every figure on this site is what you receive, after network and platform fees: idle pay and rent alike. The number you see is the number you are paid, and your monthly statement lists every hour.
How is idle pay set, and can it change?
The network sets idle pay for each GPU type and it moves with supply and demand, so it can go up or down from day to day. The rates on this site and in your console are live, and each hour is paid at the rate in effect for that hour, after fees.
What happens if my machine goes offline?
We health-check every machine continuously. Hours when it is offline or failing checks earn no idle pay, and we may pause it until it passes again. A paused machine earns nothing; pay resumes once it is back online and passing checks.
What happens when a GPU type is full?
You can still list. Each GPU type pays the full idle rate up to a cap of idle GPUs. Above the cap, every idle GPU of that type shares the cap equally, so each is paid cap ÷ idle of the full rate.Example: 8× B300 · cap 32 GPUs, 40 idle now. Over the cap: 40 idle GPUs share a cap of 32, so the tier pays 80% of its full rate.
How and when am I paid?
Monthly, by bank transfer or in USDT, USDC or BTC, to the payout method you choose in the console.
Who sets the rental price?
You choose. By default the price is automatic: we set it from live supply and demand, starting from the network's market price for your GPU and moving it up when most of those GPUs are rented and down when they are not. It is never so low that a rented hour pays you less than idle pay, and never above the soft limit, so idle pay is kept. Or set your own price per machine, anywhere between the floor and the maximum for its GPU. You can change it any time in the console.
What does my machine need?
Our automatic machine test checks all of this in a few minutes and tells you how to fix anything that fails:NVIDIA GPUs with a working driver, all the same model1, 2, 4 or 8 GPUs of a supported modelFull GPU memory, power limit at or near its defaultRoot or passwordless sudo over SSHA Linux kernel that supports isolated containersAt least 100 GB free disk and 100 Mbps downloadA public IP with free ports for renter connectionsDocker and the GPU container runtime are not required up front: we install them during setup.
Which GPUs qualify?
14 GPU types earn idle pay today: B300, B200, H200, H100, RTX PRO 6000, RTX 6000 Ada Generation, RTX 5090, L40, A100, L40S, RTX A6000, RTX 4090, RTX 3090, GB300. Single GPUs and 8-GPU servers both count. See spots left for each.
Do I give up my hardware?
No. The machines stay in your facility and stay yours. While listed, a machine serves renters only. You can pause new rentals at any time; a machine with an active rental needs at least 7 days' notice before you withdraw it.
What access does Rackloom have to my machine?
SSH access with the key you add, and nothing else. We use it to run the machine test, set the machine up and keep it healthy, and every command we run is recorded in our audit log. Our network credentials stay on our servers and are never copied to your machine. We never ask for, or store, your passwords or private keys.
Can renters get into my system?
No. Each rental runs in an isolated container that gets the rented GPUs, not access to your host system or your other workloads. That isolation is one of the things the machine test checks before a machine goes live.
What do I need to install?
Nothing. You give us the machine's IP and SSH login and add our access key. We test the machine automatically, and after approval we set it up remotely.
How long does it take to start?
Signing up takes about five minutes and needs no credit card. We verify every machine within 1 business day and email you the decision.
